After completing phase 1 of IS 101-3003, I feel as though I could have done better managing my time to complete my assignments. LabSim was very easy to complete so I would sometimes leave it until the very end. Moving forward I will be taking extra time to make sure I am keeping up with labs and actually understanding the material. I will also be making sure to go over the study guides for the bonus quizzes well before the day of the quiz to make sure I remember the topics and understand them better as well.
For my topic I chose 4.9.3 Word Templates. Word has a huge array of templates available for users to utilize and customize. I am not very handy or creative so templates can really help in guiding on a nice layout for a project.
I have passed my MO-110 Word certification exam. 😀
Coming back to college as a parent has taught me a lot about time management, but it has been very rewarding so far.
Hello Valeria, I can really relate to what you said about time management because I also had those moments where I thought I had enough time, then suddenly everything is due at the same time. I like that you’re planning to review earlier for the bonus quizzes because I’m trying to fix that habit too. Honestly, Word templates seem simple at first, but once you actually use them there’s a lot going on, so I think that was a good topic to pick.
ReplyDeleteAlso congrats on passing the MO-110 Word exam, that’s a big win. Balancing school while being a parent is not easy, so the fact that you’re still pushing through is honestly really impressive.
Very glad to hear you find your college experience rewarding, Valeria :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, a proactive stance on doing the LabSim so you understand the materials is definitely needed for Microsoft Excel!
Good job on conquering the MO-110 Word certification exam and I look forward to see your participation in future bonus quizzes ^_^
Hi Valeria! Time management is always important but I always seem to throw it out the window and get things done when I am able to. Congratulations on passing your MO-110 Word Exam! It must be difficult to juggle parenting an college.
ReplyDeleteWord Templates is a good topic choice too. I agree, templates make things way easier, especially when you’re not trying to design everything from scratch.
ReplyDeleteAlso congrats on passing the MO-110!!
Hello Valeria, i agree that LabSim for word was particularly easy so even I overestimated and pushed it off to the side to finish later as it holds no difficulty to learn, but doing that made assignments stack up for me and taught me a vital lesson within this class is how I manage my time. Kudos as well on passing your exam!
ReplyDeleteHi Valeria, time management is very important and I know the feeling of being overwhelmed with everything happening at once. Congrats on passing the Word Exam! It's always a good feeling to accomplish something you worked for and with the right habits and time management I'm sure you'll pass the Excel as well. Have a great rest of the semester!
ReplyDeleteHi Valeria. I can respect what you said about coming back to college as a parent. That takes a lot of discipline, especially when balancing responsibilities. How is that going for you?
ReplyDeleteHi Valeria, I always find it impressive for parents to choose to go back to school because it takes a lot of energy and time to balance school work and a family that you've built. Great to see that you passed the Word exam and continue to do well in this course.

ReplyDeleteHello Valeria, being a parent in college can be a little bit challenging. I'm not a parent, but I still know it can be complicated. Glad to hear that you decided to come back to college, and hope you achieve your future goal.
ReplyDeleteI really appreciate your honesty about your experience in Phase 1. It’s easy to fall into the habit of putting things off when they seem manageable, so it’s great that you’ve recognized that and already have a plan to stay on top of your work moving forward.
ReplyDeleteHi Valeria! Props to you for attending college as a parent; I can imagine it must be pretty difficult. I'm glad to hear you passed your exam!! Congrats!

ReplyDeleteHi Valeria, I can relate to being a parent and going to school. At first, I almost felt selfish focusing on my education and at the time the gym but it's setting a great example for your children to keep working hard even when it's difficult.
ReplyDeleteHi Valeria, I liked your reflection on improving time management and being more intentional with LabSim and study guides.
ReplyDeleteHey Valeria, I did sort of the same thing while doing PowerPoint, I first did the videos then the readings before doing the actual practice labs and challenge labs. I'm glad I did I breezed through it but YAY we're almost done!
ReplyDeleteHey Valeria, I loved 4.9.3! I have always loved it since I was taking ENG 100 since it was very handy. People in my class struggled to know how to format their papers in MLA but I taught them that the word templates can actually do it for you. Not just format it to be that way but also show you an example of where certain things are placed and where stuff are positioned. Really useful tool!
ReplyDeleteHello Valeria. Great job passing the MO-110! I'm glad this course is helping you improve your time management skills!
